About ABM visual

Michael was born in Port Pirie and grew up between Warnertown, Whyalla, and Adelaide. He spent most of his twenties working across the country and around the world, from demolition and construction in Peru to scuba diving in Cambodia and years as a landscaper in Adelaide, before moving from Fujairah to Geelong in 2016 to be closer to family.

After a workplace injury in 2018, he spent 2019 studying photography and videography, while volunteering at the Marine and Freshwater Discovery Centre in Queenscliff, documenting events for the Victorian Fisheries Authority. At the end of that year the VFA took him on as an Education Officer, which gave him the chance to start a business on the side.

ABM visual opened in Geelong in January 2020, then closed its doors two months later when Victoria went into lockdown. That time went into researching new technology and building out skills, alongside a few special projects: a 360 shoot with a troupe of acrobats, a scuba diving resort in Thailand, and a 3D scan of an entire rainforest walk for Parks Victoria while it was closed for renovations. In November 2020, ABM visual came home to Adelaide.
